blume

FURNITURE

»Blume« is one of three products from the functional pattern series in which I questioned the relationship of patterns and products. While patterns are most of the time used to decorate an object at the very last step of creation, I inversed the relation: I created patterns and analyzed their possible applications and functions. After this exploration, I started to design an object around the function.

»Blume« is a vase which shape can be adapted to it's content.  The motif imagined for blume shows its function once in volume. The lines of each element intersect : if we move one element, all the others will follow. This choreography allows »blume« to constantly change its shape which adapts to the flowers and bouquets it contains.
